Having learned the skills and trained from his father, Verci was recruited young by Josie Holt as a burglar, and would work with his brother Asti on several jobs until Asti left Missus Holt.  On those jobs, he would use his aptitude for tinkering to build gadgets and devices to help him on the job, and he soon recognized that was where his true gifts laid. When he met and fell in love with Raychelle, she convinced him he could make an honest living building and selling his inventions.  They quickly married and borrowed money to start the Rynax Gadgeterium, joined by Asti upon his return to North Seleth.
