Phadre had grown up planning on furthering the family name as career officers in the Druth Army. He had spent many days as a boy reading his grandfater’s journals from the Fifty Year War, learning everything he could about his intended carerr.  Fate had a different plan when his magical ability manifested, and as he began study at the University of Maradaine, he applied the same academic and scholastic vigor to his new path.  He realized he had an incredible aptitude for understanding mystical theory, which Professor Alimen recognized and strongly fostered.  He started focusing himself fully on study of measuring magic in a definitive, quantified way, and charting how outside factors affect its flow.
